December’s Learning Labs

Month theme: Frozen (Songs from the Movie, More STEAM Notebook creations, States of matter, water cycle)

M, 12/2: Introduction to FROZEN theme, Create paper snowmen (Olaf) in STEAM Notebooks

Tu, 12/3: Mr. J is out, Moby Max in computer lab with Mr. Y, Every student should try and earn 500 points by Dec. 13 for a prize!  More points = More prizes!

W, 12/4: Class rehearsals of Frozen songs including whole school performance “Frozen Heart” and “Let it Go”, create Snowflake Mazes inside STEAM Notebook

Th, 12/5: Frozen Science: States of Matter- Solid, Liquid, Gas with ICE! (Freeze it for Art next week)

Fri, 12/6: Continue class rehearsals of Frozen songs (Varies by class), Frozen Lyric pages in STEAM notebook

M, 12/9: Continue class rehearsals of Frozen songs (Varies by class), Frozen Fractals (Symmetry, Spiro graph, etc.) inside STEAM notebooks

Tu, 12/10: Frozen Science: Ice carving

W, 12/11: Continue class rehearsals of Frozen songs (Varies by class), Foam Snowflakes & snowmen creations in STEAM notebooks

Th, 12/12: Frozen science: Frozen electronic games on iPad, Frozen games including “Don’t break the ice” and Pin the nose on the snowman.

Fri, 12/13: Continue class rehearsals of Frozen songs (Varies by class), Shaving foam Snow art

M, 12/16: Continue class rehearsals of Frozen songs (Varies by class), Snow Glitter writings

Tu, 12/17: Frozen Science: Finish Frozen games (See 12/12) for Snow Cone points.

W, 12/18: Finish class rehearsals of Frozen songs (Varies by class) on stage, Whole school rehearsal in afternoon (2:00)

Th, 12/19: Frozen Science: Snow cones/ Shaved Ice (Based on points earned this month)

Fri, 12/20: Masterpiece Showcase: LIVE at 12:15 including the Songs of Frozen performed by individual classes & whole school preforming “Frozen Heart” and “Let it Go”

12/23-31 Winter Break (Until January 7th, see you in 2014 for Origami Yoda & Star Wars)
